Cutting Paper, Digitally
By digitising our accounting and procurement systems, we've reduced paper usage by over 95 percent. What used to take up warehouse shelving now fits on a single rack. We continue to roll out more paperless solutions across the business.
Smarter Procurement, Smaller Footprint
The most sustainable option is often to use less. That is why we have designed our online platform to streamline procurement, helping you minimise over-ordering and reduce unnecessary waste. Our digital tools also help cut paper usage across transactions, with features such as real-time stock availability, custom items and personal pricing, built-in order approvals, and Punchout and EDI integration.
Reducing Waste with ATOMic
Our ATOMic service helps customers reduce consumption at the source through real-time stock management and automated replenishment. This approach has delivered a 25 to 30 percent average reduction in consumable usage, helping businesses cut waste while staying well-stocked.

Energy Efficiency Across Our Network
Reducing energy consumption is a key part of our strategy. We have implemented solar energy and LED lighting retrofits at multiple branches with significant results:

ATOM Kewdale
Our Kalgoorlie site now powers the entire branch with solar and returns 120 kW to the grid weekly. These upgrades help lower our operational costs and environmental impact while supporting the shift to renewable energy. From 2023 to 2024 we have reduced our CO2 by 40 tonnes.
We aim to replicate these results across our entire network to further reduce our reliance on traditional power sources and move toward a carbon-neutral operation.
Recycling in Action
Across our branches, we’ve implemented container recycling systems to keep bottles and cans out of landfill. In 2024, we achieved a national recycling rate of 66.96 percent (WasteFlex).
All proceeds from collected recyclables are donated to charities that align with our ATOM Community Engagement (ACE) Fund, making our recycling efforts both environmentally and socially impactful.
